At The Airport

I hadn’t been traveling much. What with the pandemic and everything. Staying at home was not so much a choice as a necessity. But here I am, hustling through airports again, looking at gates with departures to places I once frequented, but now seem like exotic pipe dreams. Barcelona at one gate, Frankfurt at another. Here is a flight to Paris and across the aisle another to Seoul.

I wanna get on one of those planes. Use my Miles or spend way too much money. Just walk right up to the gate and be sweet to the agent. They deal with so many assholes, that they like to take care of of the nice ones. So maybe she’d give me a break on a flight, or slide me into business or first for a tiny up charge… or maybe no up charge at all. It wouldn’t be the first time.

But even if none of that happened, even if I spent money that I shouldn’t spend, I want to wake up in Frankfurt or Barcelona or Tokyo; I’d know what to do once I got there.
