The Barista

Tony recognized her from school. He’d always been too shy to talk to her, and now here she was, waiting on his order and he was going to have to say something.

He blurted it out so fast that there was about a 50/50 chance it would be right. But there it was and he wasn’t about to change it. She called after him “I see you in the library all the time.”

“Oh yeah, hey.” Seriously? She must be thinking this guy’s some kind of socially challenged weirdo.

“Cindy,” she said.

“Uh, Tony.” Well at least he hadn’t screwed that part up.
