De-Invent Yourself

So you’ve taken the tests. You’re an ITJPFQW, you’re a horse, your color is blue, your shape is a triangle, you’re chaotic evil, you’re an S and your strengths are Communication, Creativity and Dog Polishing.

Bullshit.

Unless you’re 17, if you are looking to re-invent yourself, you are most likely looking in the wrong place at the wrong time. The wrong place is a pile of self assessment crap. The wrong time is in the future.

You need to look backwards before you can move forward. Start there. What did you sacrifice, what did you put aside to be what you are today? A successful career person, a mother, a teacher, a computer scientist. No matter what it is, you sacrificed something and the only questions you need to ask yourself right now are: “What was it?” and “Was that the real me.”

If the answer is that “yes, that is the real me!” then you only need to ask yourself if you want to be that authentic you that you once were. If you don’t, then fine. Pick all the paperwork back out of the garbage and start sifting through it for all the good it will do you.

De-invent yourself. You already know the answers, and it’s free.
